Twenty Oh-Ten with a Scotch in my Hand

January's meeting was hosted by Steve P. and Grace. We read The Veldt by Ray Bradbury, and the story was a hit. Is updating our website within a few hours of the meeting just the Veldt proving its point? 

Meredith brought the Macallan 10-year single malt-- pretty tasty.

Our meeting welcomed one new official member, Lindsay, and one trial member, Mikey. We'll vote shortly for the title of our new people--- options on the table: Associate, Junior Associate, Intern, Apprentice... We'll see.

December meeting was awesome thanks to our gracious host, the arrival of our real glasses, and the appearance of our newest associate member. Welcome, Lindsay. Hell yeah.

It was festive and I think everyone enjoyed reading through Carver's story more than the Poe story, and it definitely generated more discussion in issues of race, gender, finance, the economy, and added a bit of suspense to our reading. Thanks for the delicious Glenfiddich Scotch from Steve P.

Hope that everyone has a great holiday break, and can't wait til our first meeting of 2010.

The Vote is In- BIG NEWS

Based on your votes, our winning scotch glass is the English Highball (or pick #2). The order has been placed, and the highballs may just be getting etched with our club's name as we speak. Hopefully by next meeting we'll have glasses to clink, so wear your cuff links and practice your classy laugh- we're rolling now.

The 4-Year Old Liked Thanksgiving

Hope that everyone got their fill of relaxing and drinking things other than scotch over Thanksgiving. The first meeting of the Scotch and Short Stories club was a hit. Thanks for the Black Label, Josh. Steve P. thanks for starting us off right with the stories.

First Meeting This Wednesday

We'll go over a funny selection of stories by Ross Murray, selected by our first official member, Steve. Hope everyone enjoyed reading them! Josh and I are bringing the Scotch to this one, and snacks will be served.
